Shan Raiford is Florida native and the BHT supervisor For Elevations Health. Shan grew up in a church-going family, where they attended his grandfather’s church. It was there where he began to believe that “Love conquers all,” “Laughter is the best medicine,” and that his mission in life was to help anyone in need. Through elementary and middle school, Shan recognized that some of his friends and other kids in his area came from broken families, joining gangs, getting hooked on drugs, being incarcerated and becoming victims of gang violence in which he set his focus on making an impact in his community. Shan attended the 7th ranked high school in the nation, graduating with honors at Suncoast High School. He was a leader in the S.A.D.D. program (Students Against Destructive Decisions), a catalyst for the Urban League of Palm Beach County N.U.L.I.T.E.S. program (National Urban League Incentives to Excel and Succeed), and a mentor in his community as a recreational specialist at a community center. Shan was presented with an opportunity to get in the field of substance abuse and mental health counseling where he has flourished ever since becoming a Certified Behavioral Health technician (CBHT) and continues to climb the ladder as Elevations’ BHT manager. In his spare time, Shan enjoys singing. His grandfather would always tell him.
